Training begins with the owner. My programs are design to educate the family, kids included, on behaviors and how to teach appropriate ones and prevent or change the negative ones. I specialize in behaviors and my goal is to help each family have a well-mannered family member. I started training in 1990, mainly as a hobby, to help prevent people from giving up on their puppy/dog and reduce the animals being turned into shelters. My love for animals has made this desire become a regular part of my life. I feel very blessed to love what I do!
Training Classes Available:
Private Training
This program comes to you, and is customized to your family... whether we train in your house or at the park, or a particular location you frequent. The best place to first teach behaviors is in your home, without distractions. It allows me to set up house etiquette for you and your dog, along with working the problem behaviors where they occur. Some behaviors typically focused on are "waits" at doors/vehicles, "off" people, furniture & counters, "place" to stay while people are eating or company is over, "quiet" to control barking, potty training, "drop" dog toy or something they shouldn't have, leave it, how to redirect and stop puppy nipping, how to retrieve toys/newspaper, yard boundaries, along with all the basic behaviors (see below). I have 8 week programs at $600 which gives you the 8th class for free or hourly rates @ $85/ session. For a reduced rate you may come to me for $50/ class.

Puppy/ Basic Group Training
These classes cover all of the basic behaviors to start you off on the right "paw" with your puppy/ dog. I teach you how to train using mostly positive conditioning techniques to help your puppy/ dog learn how to be a well-mannered family member. Goals cover the foundations of training, leash boundaries/ walking without pulling, come (6'/20' lines), sits, downs, heels, sit stay, down stay, sit while greeting a person, waits, place as well as behavioral problems like jumping, barking, nipping, and potty training. Cost is based on an 8 week program. These classes are $125/ 8 week session. Training Camp
This is a 3 week program where I train your dog for you in my home environment with children, other dogs and a cat. I teach house manners like staying off people, furniture and counters, waiting at doors, chewing appropriate things, as well as how to interact with children and other animals... along with teaching your basic commands like come, walking nicely, heeling, downs, stays, dropping and retrieving and more... Then I bring your dog home to you and teach you and your family how to maintain the skills taught to your four- legged companion. Cost can vary but typically it's close to $80/ per day which includes free group classes from that point on as well as reduced privates if wanting to learn more advanced skills in the home. Excellant program for those who do not have the time to train their own dog(s).
